TOM WAITS
"FRANKS WILD YEARS"
For this exercise, we chose an album from a musician of our choice. I chose Tom Waits, a personal favorite of mine, with the album Franks Wild Years.
Since the album serves as the soundtrack for the play of the same name, I used this opportunity to experiment with the idea of ripped posters, as if to show how so many other plays and works have come to past but underneath it all Tom Waits lives on.
To get a more authentic base to work with, I decided to use an actual poster off the street. It's not like you could read it anyway. Made several posters that would serve as song titles for the back cover, and out of these songs, I chose Telephone Call from Istanbul as my basis for the booklet. To finish, there was also a layout for a one page website where you could listen to the album.
