Challenge:
Barcode scanning is an action that is mainly triggered by physical keys on Zebra devices. On the software side, you have to open an application and select the scan action. Finding the right app can be tricky as this may lead to inefficiency.
Solution:
We wanted to create shortcut areas on both sides for frequently used actions and applications on our new smart devices, TC51 and TC56. These "active edge"s would help the user to access and finish their tasks sooner. I have placed a drawer style navigation to these active edges as a proof of concept.
