Illustration done for the 2017 Alien Day (April 26), featuring "The Pilot".
The enigmatic character which appeared in the first movie (Alien, 1979) was mostly referred as "Space Jockey".
In the making of the art, I followed the design which was presented with Prometheus (2012), where the species was referred as the "Engineers", and put some detail into the original turret reminiscent from it's first appearance.
Wish these guys had larger role in Alien: Covenant, but there's hoping to see them again in next installments.
Following, more details in the art:

That's it for Alien Day 2017! Now for the next one.

The "Space Jockey", the pilot of the derelict ship, is the individual stuck in LV-426, seating fossilized amidst the space cold vesuvian-like scenario. As a large panel, I intended to feature different renditions of either such individual or of it's kind (if it's from any) explored by other arts apart from the movies (i.e. comics).

It contains mentions to comics such as:
1991's The Alien (as the spectral figure on the left, on the comic, it's kind of a psychic being with astounding power);
1999's Aliens Apocalypse (the comic itself being often compared to Prometheus and Covenant, on the sense it ellaborates on a trip to a place inhabited by these beings, with only one left... this frame on the right is directly from a 'temple' of sorts on that landscape), and 2016's Prometheus Life and Death (as an homage to a cover made by Sachin Teng, standing just above the original appearance).

The Original appearance:
The Jockey as it appears in 1991's Comic The Alien, 2016's Prometheus Life and Death

That's it for my ALIEN fan art entries.
