To Kill A Mockingbird Cover

Description: The purpose of this project was to create a grunge type book cover that is in the similar style of David Carson's works. The main idea was to use grunge typography to convey emotion.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, etc.): The main program used was photoshop, using the brush tool to add the detail and texture to these pictures. As well I used the text tool, and shifted around the letters or words.
E&P: I did not  go for any elements or principles from the regular artwork that is done, except maybe visual hierarchy, because the style of David Carson that makes him so memorable is how he breaks most or all of the rules of design.
Reflection: The project I think as a whole worked out well, a strength I think of the work is the placement of images and words on the cover page. The weakness comes with the two inside flaps, that do not have much detail or texture to them compared to everything else.
