CHANGING FACES
MY DESIGN LAYOUT FOR AN ARTICLE EXPLORING AND WARNING OF THE POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES OF UNCHECKED CLIMATE CHANGE
Throughout the piece I use the analogy of a burning candle to convey the finite nature of the resources we have at our disposal and the unrestrained vigor with which we devour them.
The wax dripping about the pages signifies the wasteful attitude we have and the culture of consumption that cares only about being fed at all costs. Here I devoted an entire page to create a piece I made entirely myself. Burning a candle from both ends, reflecting common expression referring to excessive, careless consumption.
My article design gets progressively darker in its design as one reads, this is to convey time in the struggle to sustain our environment running low. The expanded quotes are now barely illuminated by a desperately weak glow from the last remnant of the candle.
