Rovinj / Rovigno, Croatia   6.12-14.17

Rovinj is a beautiful and ancient city on the coast of the Adriatic sea. It belonged to Italy until the end of World War II, when it became part of former Yugoslavia, and then of Croatia, after Yugoslavia fell appart in 1991. It is currently populated by 13, 000 people, mostly Croats, Italians, Serbs and, Slovens. It's mayor delivers his speaches in a hilarious mixture of the four languages spoken in the city. The population of Rovinj almost triples during the summer tourist invasion. The only means of transportation allowed in the city are bicycles, and small electric vehicles.
