The Rocking Chairs! Concept: "Interlacing"

The Rocking Chair!
Brief:
The Rocking chair is basically designed on the concept of interlacing. The rocking itself specifies two things, one the movement and other is amusement, both can be seen in these designs. The module was focused mostly on exploring materials and mechanism of rocking. The pattern of interlacing makes the structure very strong.
1.  Initially concept being interlacing was mostly reflected over the seating of the chair which is made out of plastic and the structural frame in metal.
2.  In this  model the form and structure itself reflects interlacing, i.e the structural frame below pass over each other to form a balance between the two bases. The material used to fabricate are metal tubes and bent metal rods at the base.
3.  Here both the materials and the structure puts forward interlacing. The base of the chair is welded together  to form a steady and strong base and the plastic ropes run over another to create a seat.
4.  This model was mostly the result of experimentation which i have gone through during my previous experiments, here the concept being interlacing is put forward evidently through the criss-cross pattern created by the plastic wires and at the base the metals are welded from from one end to another which visually gives the feel of interlacing.
I have used a metal chain in the sides to highlight the concept strongly because a chain is created only through linking.

5.  In this model i have experimented with a different material i.e,thread and balloon with a metal wire base. Here the idea is to create a flexible seating and also to put forward the bean bag effect. The threads put around are to be fabricated with metal wires with a cushion inside, which puts forward interlacing visually. It is also modular that is can be separated from the base stand.
