TEMESCAL-TELEGRAPH MAP & BUSINESS DIRECTORY, 2005
I worked with Ted Purves and Susanne Cockrell of Temescal Amity Works on this project. As socially-engaged artists who lived in the neighborhood, they had initiated a collaboration with the Business Improvement District to produce a publication that promoted a sense of place as well as area businesses. On the reverse side of the street map one could find information about the Temescal Creek watershed, historical sites, local birds, gleaning opportunities, and community resources such as the public libraries and cultural centers. They brought me into the process as the graphic designer. The clean, unadorned, almost bureaucratic esthetic seemed appropriate for this information rich, public resource.
