Site Plan
Located on the proposed South Coast Railroad halfway between Boston and the coastal city of New Bedford, Raynham will be strategically connected to the rail and road networks of Massachusetts. The new commuter train holds the potential of reactivating the former rail corridor with new vitality.

These hybrid models in combination with the reprioritization of the commuter culture of the region augment each others’ capacity for economic development and new social formations. Agroland will not only serve as a regional market and distribution center, but as a new model of living it will also be the exporter of its food culture, attracting a diverse constituency who wish to live, work, shop and learn in and around it.

The proposal for a reconsidered form of agricultural settlement seeks to reinforce the culture of local food production and family farming while reconciling the economies of food production. By reconsidering the traditional homestead farm and certain aspects of industrialized agriculture practices, we arrive at new hybrid models of Modular Homesteads and small-scale, high-productivity Enhanced Farming Outfits; a place where everyday foods are produced alongside artisanal ones.
