THE YOUTH OF A NATION
individualism as visual traits.

I tried playing around with the idea of visualizing the current youth culture and their traits. Combining alienating saturated imagery, the always amazing never dull attitude that is found on every Facebook, Instagram, Twitter post with the force of nature.

I really like the portraits themselves combined with the 3 separate covers i made. The one on top is really obvious and the message clear, but visualizing it I found quite intriguing. Trying to convey that message into an actual portrait was a nice challenge. Thats how I ended up with the unique hairstyle in the Image below.

While working on the series, I recovered half way through that it would be amazing to pair off the several characters with one another. So instead of creating 4 pieces I settled on 4 pairs instead. It's really need to look at both and try to figure out how a relationship between the two might play out. I feel like I don't wanna say too much about each character since I gave them subtle or not so subtle traits that should establish their character quite well and for you to figure out.

Lastly, I want to talk about the last image, which was my first attempt at a header for the series. But eventually it became the perfect piece to round out the series. I really loved the idea that you really can flip the image either way and you are never quite sure which side is male/female, both male or female. I think that was a powerful way to close out my newest project.

I hope you enjoy the visuals and as always if you like what you see leave or comment or "appreciate".
