This is the interiorI designed for Daycare “Provincieroute” in Zwolle, The Netherlands.
The space was former classroom that had been empty for a long time. I had tochange this classroom into a childrens daycare for kids from 4 – 12 years ofage, containing a computercorner for the older kids to do their homework, a“snoezelhoek” or relaxcorner where the kids could relax and have a little peaceand quiet time, an administration corner for the daycare leaders and adinnertable with benches.
The room had a sloping roof. To define the rooms shape in a more structered wayand bring in some color I’ve put a blue colored rectangle on the walls. The bigchallange was to divide the one big open space into different corners withtheir different functions. I used a closet and self designed roomdividers tocreate these corners.
The result was a simple but colorful and functional space. My first ChildrensDaycare project, but after this project the foundation “Doomijn” asked me to doseveral more projects for them.
