Nutrition Education Plan
Project Overview
Hospital work is demanding, and, by nature of the job, good personal health is of the utmost importance. By developing healthy eating habits, staff will not only set a good example for the hospital patients, but enable their bodies to build the stamina and immune system necessary to meet the demands of the job. The goal for this course will be to help hospital employees build healthy eating habits that mesh with their lifestyle, helping set them up for personal and professional success.

The training will be implemented according to the Gradual Release model, gradually transferring the responsibility for the learning from the teacher to the learner (Hanson, 2014). The action plan is centered around presenting easily attainable and maintainable alternatives for regular meals, in an effort to reduce the perceived magnitude of the lifestyle change.

Content Outline
Intro Video
The video is intended to be an easy and accessible introduction to the course and is made to take advantage of the dual coding theory of learning (Cuevas, 2016, p. 1), providing both visual and verbal information without overloading either channel. Starting the course with the medium of video also complements the first ‘demonstration’ stage of the gradual release model (Hanson, 2014).
