The Hluhluwe-Umfolozi National Park, located in the Northern Zululand area of South Africa's Kwazulu-Natal province, has become one of the most heavily poached areas in Africa.

Poaching syndicates strike at full moon, called the "Poacher's Moon", often with the use of intelligence bribed from corrupt conservation officials.

As many as 20 rhino have been slaughtered here in a single incursion.
