Piñon Sunset is the third in a modernaturals series of 'everyday' scenes from across America. This could be a sunset from any southwestern state, but was inspired by the vistas of New Mexico. A piñon tree (New Mexico's state tree) juts precariously from a rock formation near a visually rhythmic train track while the crescent moon shines on two wheeling Bank Swallows.
