These three pieces were created from stories from my childhood. The fabric and wax were shown together but were separate pieces. The wax hands come from my grandmother repeating the phrase "her fingers are long like candles, they look like she's never worked a day in her life." This is a statement towards my aunt-in-law. The hands are roughly sculpted. I wanted to show working hands that were rough and not perfect, contradicting my grandmother's statement. The fabric pieces are a transformation from childhood to adult hood, focusing on the torsos of female bodies showing the transition from 'baby fat' to hips becoming larger. The sexuality of the adult female is emphasized by defining the breasts and crotch.
