Ultra-compact, high-functionality mechanical creature
This box was an exercise in electronics, coding and mechanics. There is no general purpose of this project but it does demonstrate some of the applications of the Arduino platform. A 3D model of the components was created. They were made to fit together in a 3D CAD model. The main frame was lasercut from MDF and acrylic. I could finely control tolerances and assure good, reliable operation. After this, coding was performed to bring this little fellow to life. The functions include moving head and eyebrows, distance measuring eyes using ultrasonic pulses, tactile and lighting side effects and moving legs. Flip the switch!
