Artistic endeavours

I find it very satisfying to experiment with the use of different artistic mediums. I view myself as an artist/designer and always attempt to incorporate and use various creative disciplines alongside each other.
In this portfolio folder I have included various examples of my experiments and techniques.
Mediums I use in my artistic explorations include pencil, pen & ink, colour pencil, water colour, marker, mono-print, etching, collography, mixed media and combinations of the above.

Mixed media collages on identity
Here I have combined photography, bits of pasted lettering on an acrylic base and added bees wax with a wipe of oil paint over the waxed areas to accentuate these.

An impromtu emotive response to a Free State thunder storm with the quick impasto application of oil paint
Last completed work
In this delightful mixed media experiment I used a layer of fine wet wall plaster on a painted stretched canvas and scraped away some of the plaster.
Current work in progress
These latest playful experiments started with a basic mono-printed sketch with oil on fabriano. I am currently adding embossed textures by putting it through the etching press and finishing it up with patches of powder pastel.
