This project was done for a D&AD Brief, that asked to create an advertising campaign for Amnesty International, aimed at young people aged 18-25. I came up with a launch campaign for Vigil, a fictional online branch of Amnesty International. Vigil’s main focus is to present content aimed at 18-25 year olds. The brief stated that Amnesty was a well respected and established organisation, but they wanted to find a way to reach out to a younger audience, to get them to take injustice personally. With this poster I used visually striking imagery to draw the viewer in. Once closer they realise that there are numbers along the smoke trail, these numbers are footnotes that match up with quotes at the bottom left of the poster. The quotes are taken from refugees. With this approach the poster engages the viewer through their own interest, getting them to take injustice personally.
