Wander Through The City Of London

So, ive finally got my own DSLR camera and i planned a day out in London to learn some photography techniques and to try out some of the settings. Mainly just to get to grips with using the camera. This here was my planned route:

however, i couldn't get to everything because trains started to be a nightmare (it actually took almost three hours to get home, i only live an hour away).
Anyway, i managed to get to quite a few places and took some very good photos (well I'm pleased with them anyway). This was the first proper time i've used this specific camera so some didn't come out quite as good, but its all about learning from my mistakes so im not too disappointed and I know how I could go about doing a better job.
Firstly I took some shots of the London eye but all the ones i took were pretty much the same. I mean, its a round circle that moves very slowly - theres only so many pictures you can take before you start repeating yourself anyway. Here's a couple that I got that I did really like though:
Also, i passed a couple street performers so i 'attempted' to have a go at some street photography - although they were performers so they were posing anyway. I figured id give it a shot though (pun intended). Here's one i got that i really liked:
This was one of the better ones because he hadnt seen me taking photos therefore I got shots of him fulfilling the role of his character without him looking directly down the lense (which he started doing as soon as he spotted the camera up until I walked away)
Another attempt included a walk through a small park and just shots of The National Gallery. They're not that great but im pretty happy with them.
After this, i mainly focused on patterns in London - from underground stations
to corridors:
to simply the streets of london:

also found a few skyscrapers that made for great photos at the right angles.

I have some other photos but this is just a handful of my preferred ones. Overall I taught myself a lot to do with photography and ive learned a lot from looking back at the photos I did take to know for next time. However, if you have any comments on what i can improve on then please leave them on my post. Constructive criticism is always helpful. If you liked these photos also please let me know because that is great to hear too. Thank you for taking time to look at this post. Hopefully you'll see my next too.
Until then,
Tiffany :)
