These first two images show a variety of in-painting techniques used on panel, canvas, and mural paintings. The middle section was plastered, leveled, and prepared for pigment, and then the color and texture was replicated with gouache. 

This sample shows the progression and makeup of a tempera painting on wood panel. The leftmost section is the example image, taken from a thirteenth century Italian icon, while the other sections show my application of bole, cartoon, gold leaf, and replication of the icon.
