I found these geese at the Dutchess County Fair. They seemed like they wouldn't mind if I stared at them for a bit. But then I got the look.
These goats were comfortable hanging out at Barton Orchards. The guy in profile was very friendly, and attempted to eat my sketchbook as I rested it on the fence to draw him.
These Canadian geese came in for a landing at Olivet University Golf Course. I wasn't able to get close enough for details, but in general they didn't seem to mind my presence.
I remembered that Barton Orchards had small piglets, so I went back to see if I could capture a few sketches. As I was struggling to find an interesting pose, out from the shadows comes this huge beast! He made his way to the center of the arena to pose just for me.
These chickens were very happy at Schreiber's farm. They were my fastest moving targets for sure. With these guys, I realized that when I found a pose I liked and the chicken moved, I only had to look around to find another in a similar position. There were a lot of chickens.
