Multimediadesign: Graphic Design course

Here's a project we worked on at my Graphic Design course on the Multimediadesign study.
Our case was to come up with a new logo for the National Museum of Denmark, and find something more modern and fresh. This is my work from early hand sketches to the final product.

NOTE: The National Museum uses the typeface "Nationale" for it's logotype. Since I don't have acces to that typeface, I have used the typeface "English Grotesque" instead.

Programs
- Illustrator
- Indesign
To start with, I just tried out a couple of things. The client wanted something that could be used on the different museums, letting them be distinquishable from each other but also showing that they are under the same institution. Secondly, they also wanted the royal crown to be more visible, like it was earlier.
In the end I decided to work more with the logo that used perspective and negative space to form the shape of an N.
A couple of revisions of the logo work in Illustrator. The idea went through a couple of iterations to get the right shape of the sign and to integrate the crown properly.
And here is the final product, aswell as variant for the other museums and how it looks inverted.
