Intro to Film Unit 2: Screenplay

1. In the beginning scene, Col. Landa shows that he his playing mind games with Perrie. During the scene, he’s calm and collective showing how it makes it uncomfortable for the viewer. Not only that, but, he knows that the people he kept underneath the floorboards are Jews. This shows that a lot of suspence shows in this scene.
2. In the same scene, there’s a felling that Col. Landa is in power over the conversation. Perrie knows he’s the one being overthrown with Col. Landa. There’s tension over the scene where Col. Landa might kill him. The conversation leaves the audience on their toes and full of suspense over the conversation.
3. The information given off within the characters leaves off information later on. Col. Landa knows about everything going on in the house. When he tells Perrie about the Jews hiding under the floorboards, there’s a felling of terror within the words of Col. Landa. Perrie knows he can’t lie to Col. Landa because he might be sent to a Nazi concertation camp for his crimes. All he wants is to end the conversation and leave with his family in a happy ending, but it doesn’t end well
