Water Bottle Awareness

I was able to play the role of Art Director and oversee my class on a water bottle awareness project. We gathered all the materials from the university recycling center and had to make a sculpture that would be on display in the Computer Science Building.

Using 946 water bottles, my class and I constructed a 10ft tall replica of a Hydroflask using layers of water bottles and hot glue. The goals that I wanted to convey with the sculpture were to shed light on the high consumption rates of water bottles, the idea of reusability, and to promote drinking from the tap while using campus-wide filtration systems.

The sculpture got a lot of positive feedback on campus, along with invitations from other university buildings to have the sculpture on display.
