This was a project aimed to develop a new ceramic series for kids, particularly schools and kindergartens. The task consisted in developing some decorative tiles that would work well with an existing colour palette of mono-colour tiles.

  The combo cats / mouse seemed perfect: the former loved by many and the latter well known in cartoons. I developed this further by giving each kitty a certain personality or look through their eyes, mouths and hair colour. I then gave each kitty something kids are full of, dreams. The result was a sort of cartoon bubble. I still wasn’t fully decided on the graphics style and Lichtenstein’s cartoons with his Ben-Day dots style came to mind!
