B Squad (Escuadrón 8.5)
This was a campaign I did for DaimlerChrysler. It was a scholarship program for factory workers' children who's GPA was 8.5 or higher. The brief was to have a group of children using a "Disney Club style".

In order to maintain the idea of a competition, but without making the campaign overtly competitive, I picked the checkered flag used in races. The black and white checkered pattern was applied to different areas at an exploration stage but it was decided to downplay it to favor the brighter, and friendlier, blue-and-yellow background color combination.

Diploma
In my mind, this was the most important piece of the project because it was what the awarded children would take home. All the other promotional material would eventually be thrown away, but this diploma would be a source of pride for the children and their parents.

I kept the same colors and the same overall forms that I used in the other backgrounds, but taking away the characters made the diploma stand out as more professional, yet friendly. And since this went to the winners, there was no harm in allowing the checkered flag more prominence.
Awards ceremony invitations
I was particularly excited about this design because I was asked to make the invitation original and was allowed to experiment with different shapes. I really wanted to use the "badge logo", as we came to know it, as the invitation. The client loved how the pencil was part of the back of the invitation and all the children looking up, inviting the winners to the award ceremony.
