This assignment focused on symbolism.  We needed to photograph typical objects and find the symbolism in them to apply to a book or a play.  I chose my dagger and some playing cards.  By the time I was done, I had images of Hamlet running through my mind.

Hamlet:  Murder, Intrigue, and All in the Family.  The dagger through the sword indicates the killed king.  The darker king in the background foreshadows the villain.  The tears around the queen indicate the distress the queen is under throughout the play.  The tears along the lower right edge of the jack indicate the madness that slowly takes over Hamlet as the play continues.
