FLUID SKIN
SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION 2017-18

The brief for the following collection was to create a collection using the trends and forecast of 2017-18. The collection was supposed to involve techniques such as, pleating, patchwork, applique, origami, etc. The theme for the following collection was 'Fluid Skin' and represented keywords such as movement, flow and a nude colour palette along with the colour teal. So the five main dominant colours included were a peach, orange, teal, pastel teal and some pink. They come together as one to form a subtle, calm and soothing collection such as the same. The background in the following display is also left white to create a major focus on the products. This is a self hand stitched collection, displayed on campus grounds.
The techniques of layering, pleating, origami, tucking, applique and patchwork are clearly visible on the cushions. The curtains are made out of patchwork.
The stripes on the cushions not only create movement but also make a solid statement of colour. The striped cloth itself shows movement, but when the coaster below the bowl is noticed, there are several fabrics within the coaster that also show randomness of movement. On the pink and orange cushion, there is movement shown in both directions. The rose cushion also creates movement, but in a more circular and closed form. Hence movement has been shown throughout the collection to show the fluidity of things.
