Galvin Harrison's profile

STACK / CONSTRUCTION

Galvin Harrison’s sculptural paintings appear as an accumulation of stored survived objects that explores the boundaries of painting. Very much in the same fashion as the artist Richard Serra’s minimalist sculptures investigates the limits of discovery of sculptural materiality. They are both enacting an example of a tendency which is also reminiscent of the recycling and sampling of a culture, where the new emerges, having been created by fragments of old material. The painting and architectural content of Galvin Harrison’s works appear to have been shattered into a thousand pieces, but then reassembled into a new materiality.
