I decided to do my photo project with a Japan theme. I was homesick and desired a taste of home; the composition of my photos were methodically thought out. I used cherry blossoms as framing. Texture also played a big part in the way the photograph was perceived as well as the impact of the photograph on the viewer. For the majority of my photographs, I like to use a small aperture in order to create a shallow depth of field. My mom gave me the best compliment, “it looks like a commercial” when reviewing my photographs, which made it feel more professional and higher quality; not to mention it boosted my confidence in my skills as a photographer. I wanted to give the viewer a taste of Japan. This is not even close to the actual beauty and elegance of Japan, but this was the best I could do without taking a trip to Japan.
