The Brief
To design and produce an electronic book based on the Arabian Nights. Although the text is ancient the way in which you interpret it can and will give relevance to the present day readers. You should be free to lay the text out in any way that can plausibly serve the user and to either generate or acquire imagery that supports the function of legibility for the reader.
My Concept
A modern visual interpretation of a classic tale. Using striking photography and tasteful editorial design, my E-Book will present 'The Fisherman And The Jinni' in a contemporary manner, appealing to a modern audience as well as an older demographic that will appreciate its artistic value and understand the visual commentary. Flipping the gender roles of the story, my book will questions traditional gender roles and link to the story's morals, to never underestimate anyone and that intelligence and wit prevail over strength and power.
