Collective Face (My First Book)

"Collective Face: a Series of Quatrains on Community Building" is one of two books I created for a personal project. It took me six years to write. In the past, I have illustrated the books of others, but I desired to make my own book. Fortunately, I was able to have the time to finish my project. Most of the editing I did on my own, however, I asked for additional editing from my English professor and mentor (who had formerly worked at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). I did not have that much knowledge of design programs at the beginning of this project. However, with determination, assistance and the deep love I had for my book, I completed it with success! I desired to create something powerful for children, not literary piecemeal. I appreciate all of those who helped me to make my vision come true.

This is a banner for my senior show to go along with the book. I imagined that if Collective Face were an organization, what would it be its motto? I felt that "building communities together" was the most fitting descripition.
"Looking for an Angel: the Story of Christian Taylor Ferguson" was also a book I was working on while creating "Collective Face" It is written by Theda R. Wilson and illustrated by me.
