For these cover and single designs, I was inspired by the struggles that Mika went through to be acknowledged as a singer and publish “Life in Cartoon Motion”. His look and high-pitch voice are really unique and he always looks confident in pictures. In my cover, I wanted to emphasize his self-confidence and show how Mika stands out from the rest. To achieve this, I picked bright, eye-catching colors and illustrated a portrait of him. His facial expression gives me a sense of sassiness, which I also get when I listen to his songs and read the lyrics. Each single has the same color palette and one new color that is not present anywhere else. This is to show the uniqueness of each song and Mika himself. Instead of including just the name of the song, I decided to include a quote from the lyrics to give more insight about what the song is about. I believe that this makes people curious and want to read the rest of the lyric.
