User Guides Call of Duty

This is a project for the Call of Duty User's Guide for the Kilo Earphones. This project was done in Illustrator in the English language. I migrated it to InDesign to make it easier to manipulate. The pictures on the cover, inside cover, and top text bars were provided. The diagrams and screen shots were taken from the Illustrator files. There were 4 different sets of Earphones (Sierra, Tango and X-Ray as well as Kilo). Sierra and Kilo were done in 9 languages, Tango and X-Ray in 5. I migrated the English langauages to InDesign for all four products, then used the English as a base to put in the other languages: Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. For a few words or a single sentence, I used Google Translate, with the client's permission. Otherwise, the languages were provided in a Microsoft Word document. I made sure the cover design, the words "user guide" and back cover text were consistent across all four products in their specific languages. I also made sure the register marks and trademarks were consistently used and Xbox was consistently spelled with uppercase X and lowercase box (as is done on the Xbox website). The project is web only so page count did not matter. Kilo has 21 pages, Sierra has 25 pages, Tango has 24 pages and X-Ray has 22 pages. I did the first round layout of this project, then sent it to the client. This took 63.75 hours. (Note: the client did not want the diagram text translated into native languages, so it was left in English.)
