Helvetica—Garamond Type Specimen Book

Helvetica – Garamond type specimen book contents page & type composition — these three pages are part of a larger project, however, I decided not to include the other pages because I feel that these three pages are the strongest. The book in its entirety is focused around the typefaces Helvetica and Garamond, and it essentially shows how each can be used in various contexts. The following three pages are all from the Helvetica section of my type specimen book. The first page is the title page for the contents section, which displays each letter of the word "contents" overlapping one another and a bright red color where the letters overlap. I chose to include red in this section because I researched Helvetica and found that it was created by two men from Switzerland, which has a red and white flag.

The last two pages would be one continuous spread and contain several letters which have been combined in various ways. Through this spread, I wanted to show how versatile and symmetrical Helvetica is, and how it can be used to create patterns such as the ones displayed here.
