Avenue Hotel located in Naga City, PH
Nowadays, more and more travelers all over the world have been coming to the Philippines for leisureand/or business purposes. As a result, there is an increase of accommodation demands by the travelers. Construction, development and expansion of hotels, condominiums and the like are widespread all over the cities and tourist destinations.
Aside from having a place to stay in, most guests consider the reviews of the accommodation which includes the service, rate, inclusions and ambiance of the hotels.

This study examines the application of pop art to improve the quality of the physical attributes of a hotel and the colors that should be used to achieve the most effective way for a satisfying hotel experience.
The design to be used will focus on Andy Warhol’s pop art and how it will affect the guests’ perception once the concept is achieved. These design elements will be distributed only in the 4 areas of the hotel which includes the 1) lobby; 2) dining area; 3) one-bedroom unit; and 4) two-bedroom unit.
In line with these, the focus of this thesis is to specifically analyze Avenue Hotel and the effects of utilizing pop arts and color theory in enhancing their environment.
Avenue Hotel is a 4-star boutique hotel that provides first class service and is located along the business-friendly atmosphere of Naga City.

The design of the hotel uses modern interior that stretches from the lobby, rooms and its facilities.
Colors have always been a strong factor in Warhol’s Pop-art. His work ranges from photographs, paintings and actual establishments and furniture which prove it to be a good way of improving the standards of design and redefining the effects of color in interior design. His color largely involved the use of saturated reds, blues and yellows which are usually found in comic books and advertisements during his time.
Andy Warhol, as one of the most renowned artists in history, strongly supported the “Color Theory” with his pop art movement.

“In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its own context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated materials. The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the approaches that led to it.” (Harrison, 2001)
Thus, this research will focus on improving and implementing Andy Warhol’s Pop Art and Color Theory in Avenue Hotel Extension’s interior.
