Collective intelligence is shared or group intelligence that emerges from the collaboration, collective efforts, and competition of many individuals and appears in consensus decision making.
Based on this idea, I created a very simple coloring game that has 16 different parts, which eventually becomes one and reveals the hidden message. Since knowing overall design plan often disturbs creativity, I assigned each part to 2 random people, and the total of 32 variations were developed from 16 different people.
Each person who got assigned parts does not have any information about the overall product. All they informed was the simple procedure of how to color the given parts. The players were given 2 illustrator files that have 31x31 grid with each square filled by either 0 or 1. They get to pick 2 colors from the color palette above and apply only one color for each number. Different people used different method to color their squares, and human mistakes were more than welcomed.
The whole project process is made as a simple square booklet, which keeps the square design system.
