Pronounced (Kroh/keh/tah), the croquetas are a historic founding member of the "tapas" family. The croqueta’s filling is a thick white sauce made of butter, flour and milk, It’s soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and an authentic Spanish Flavour. Traditionally this product can be made pretty much of any leftover food and that is why it has always been so popular in households around Spain.
Ana´s Croquetas is a London based tapas company that supplies high quality Croquetas to businesses & particulars. For sale and distribution of their product in the UK and via web for the whole world, the brand asked me for a development that reflects this traditional vision of Spanish cuisine.
I´ve created 4 illustrations that represent each of the flavors, inside a rhombus that unifies the 4 pieces and with a single color that identifies each variety.
Being a traditional product and made in an artisanal way, I´ve also designed a seal for the package which gives it that artisanal distinction.
And for all the development of the packaging I´ve chose a sober, simple and traditional aesthetic, integrating the identity of the brand and the legal elements, ingredients and descriptions with the intention of highlighting the elegance in the design between the multitude of plastic containers, bright colors, and realistic pictures that can be found in a supermarket or for sale via web.
