Letter-form design.

Skeletons form the base for any structure, be it a human body or a letter form. Different skeletal explorations were tried of which the above two were selected to work further on.
Once the skeletons are selected they are covered with different flesh explorations where each structure is give mass and weight. This process can be done using different tools, working with different weights and exploring different techniques without bending it towards a stylistic form.
After selecting a specific flesh coating and the tool used, different explorations are made using that tool or technique. There have to be many explorations to narrow down the selection to the final one. While exploring, many aspects of letter form have to be taken care of as the letter must be legible and the different parameters must also be maintained.
From the final two, one must be selected on the basis of legibility and also thinking about other alphabets as the technique used should also be applicable for the other 25 characters in a letter-set.
The final form for letter 'a'. Since this is a brush stroke technique the other characters in the set might differ a bit in concerns with the stroke but every letter should look like it somewhere belongs to the family. Over here after the final 'a', a word was selected which contains letters with different strokes for studying the strokes in other letters as well. Once the letters in this word are explored, the execution on other letters in a character set are worked upon to make a complete font or letter form.
The word taken over here is 'aerial'. This specific word was taken as it contains letters with different rounded strokes, curves and straight strokes. The technique being a brush stroke technique, each letter was explored separately to achieve the perfect stroke which would be similar in nature to the initial 'a'.
The final execution of the word which was digitized using a vector software. The final work for other characters in the letter set is under process.
