This project began in Fall of 2016 and is still ongoing. The inspiration for this came from a sustainable design class. The assignment was to collaborate with a neighborhood, local high school AP Biology students, University pre-med students and designers. With this team we were to work along side each other in creative problem solving using biomimicry to insure sustainability.
Our team ideated plans to honor the history of automobile manufacturing by applying the use of recycled cars and tiers. The idea was very fun, imaginative and sustainable. We were able to preset to the neighborhood board and advanced on to presenting to the Parks and Recreation department as well as the Mayor and his board. This helped to catch National attention and spark a conversation. A year later, money was granted and new equipment was installed by the help of outside community members. You can catch the story here.
