FUTUNIE (FUTURA_condensed medium + WINNIE) is a new geometric version of Futura font based on unique geometric shapes of the original font. Through the careful dissection of Futura font and several variations of font designs, I came up with very minimal yet geometric version of Futura. Depends on the alphabet, either bowl or full shoulder were substituted with a half circle like geometric shape. The alphabets with neither bowl nor full shoulder were trimmed a bit at the end.
Futunie covers only lower case letters, numbers, and punctuation. However, the variation can be created through color changes within the geometric shapes of the font and add lines around it.
These are the various explorations of the usage of Futunie. Addition of lines, color modifications, a creation of patterns, and an addition of a photo were practiced to create variations within the font. The photo was taken from dressing table of mine, with carefully located selected objects that share similar geometric shapes with the font. The final poster(20x30) was created based on different variation explorations.
