THE CAGED BIRD
Today, again Mona entered house slowly wishing it turns to some adventure park. Suddenly someone called 'hurry up Mona, you can't waste time. My daughter has to study a lot today'. Mona ran into the house, had her lunch and rushed to her table where those books were waiting for her. She started with essay on dreams, she looked out from her window and got lost in that world where children smiled, played and had fun. Suddenly door opens, her mom lifts the curtains and gave Mona a serious look.
This had begun since the starting of school and it was a beginning of a life caged,' a sparrow in a cage', trying hard to fly daily for last 2 months, to see the world with her eyes. One more night came but this time sparrow banged her head hard on cage seeking freedom, she kept trembling and died next morning. One more night came Mona closed her essay book and closed the lights.
SCRIPT
--Evening 5pm--
MONA’S FRIEND- Ting Tong
(sound of door ring)
MOTHER- (opens the door)
V.O-She will not come she has to study!
(Bangs the door with loud voice)
MONA- (Moves her neck towards the door and looks outside the window, lost in that world where children were smiling, playing and having fun)
MOTHER- (Enters her room)
MONA- (dumbstruck and startled, started looking at her books)
MOTHER- (gave Mona a serious look and lift the curtains of the window)
--LITTLE CAGED SPARROW IN THE BALCONY--
SPARROW- (Trying to fly outside the cage)
--NEXT DAY—
MONA- lost in that world where she is playing
MOTHER- mona u r studying?
MONA- (Looking at her books)
SPARROW- (trying hard to fly, banging her neck, wishing to fly like other birds flying)
--DARK NIGHT DRAWS IN--
--MORNING SUN RISES--
MONA- (sleeping on her books)
SPARROW- (died)
