FOOD FESTIVAL WEB SITE DESIGN : FOODIE
"Foodie" is a website for a hypothetical design festival centered around the latest in food and design. My approach employs the vibrant colors used in food styling. I was inspired by the research of food styling photography, and I noticed the significance of color in art direction. Using Adobe Illustrator, I drew several dishes in a consistent style and icons to match. CSS and HTML formatted all page designs. The final site includes animated effects to stimulate interest and make interactivity a significant part of the design. First, I created a wireframe using simple shapes. I drew up a final mock-up based on this model and started programming using HTML/CSS. The website's grid background was inspired by the tiled on a kitchen backsplash. To create an entertaining way of browsing through the pages, I designed simple illustrations and used them as icons.
