SMILE! A window display, features 120 smiley faces and bold, repetitive, in-your-face typography. The goal? Light up a smile on passers-by faces on their way to work – simple as that!
This is a completely hand-cut, large-scale, temporary window display in the 3300 Block of Eastern Avenue in Highlandtown, a neighborhood in Baltimore City. The Grad Remix: Papercuts class, taught by Annie Howe, project was sponsored by The Highlandtown Main Street and Southeast CDC. Highlandtown Main Street is a program of the Southeast CDC and a part of Baltimore Main Streets, a program of the City of Baltimore. The white paper is Tyvek, and the background gradient is printed on matte paper. The softer pink background is plastic table-cloth.
