Antojitos Mexican Candy Shop

In Mexico, antojitos literally translates to "little cravings," originally referring to street food like tacos, tamales, quesadillas, etc. Mexicans have a major sweet tooth though and no diet is worth breaking without paletas, a trip to the bakery, or some spicy candy.

Antojitos is a store created for all those dulce cravings, providing a wide range of all the diverse and unique candy Mexico has to offer.

Featured sweets include: Paleta Payaso, De La Rosa Mazapan, conchas, Pelon Pelo Rico, Manita de la Suerte, paletas with mango and chamoy, and of course, the piñatas containing all our favorite Mexican candies.

Thought Process:
For this illustration, I started out with sketches. At first I had plenty of other elements I wanted to include, but once I laid them out, I found these to be the best fit. My purpose was to create a sense of nostalgia. The piñata and confetti were added in the end to re-create a typical Mexican party, reminding us of the excitement we felt when the piñata finally broke and we'd scramble to grab the most candy.
