Italo Calvino  - “if on a winter's night a traveler” -  Chapter 1
A couple of pages of a conceptual booklet design for a typographical fictive assignment of the first chapter from Italo Calvino’s book “if on a winter's night a traveler”. The book is about the reader trying to read a book, so I wanted to slow down the reading proces by focusing on the punctuation marks. On each page you get a summary of all the punctuation marks used on that page. When the text is going about sorts of books, it’s put in grey. On one hand to put attention on the subject of the book on the other hand to bring confusion with the text from the next page that you can see through the page. This also slows down the reading process. Each paragraph starts on a new page exactly one line under the previous one. By using really thin, light transparent paper and use the maximum space of the booklet it was a challange to work very precisly.
