Mastery Learning Project
Turtle Conservation Website Design: The purpose of this project was to create a website for the promotion of a charitable concert to benefit the protection of sea turtles. The project began with 3 mood boards to help visualize all concepts that helped create the final product. Color palettes, tones and fonts were chosen with the intent to market to the specific demographics of each board.
Mood Boards
The first event is called Jazz by the Sea. The intended target audience is mixed gender ages 30 to 50 years old. The music genre is jazz. This music genre was chosen because jazz appeals to a range of people. The design elements should reflect the rhythm and movement of the music. Jazz is an abstract form of music. The colors and shapes imitate the energy and improvisation that the music suggests. The look and feel of the mood board should provide a constant dialogue with the culture that encompasses it.

The next event is called Rock the Beach. The age demographic of the target audience for rock is 18-26 years old. The people in this group enjoy spending time socially and going to parties. They attend colleges and universities and spend a lot of time studying. The target audience should become instantly aware of the message that the mood board is delivering to them when they see the “Rock the Beach” title. The visual elements reflect aspects of rock music so that people will instantly know the music genre. The colors and fonts have distinctive personalities that create an emotional impact on the viewers. The intention behind the use of colors is to evoke emotion by matching the personality of rock music.
The final event is called Boots on the Beach. The age brackets for this target audience is 35-44 years old. These people are home owners with an average of three children. They also have college and post graduate degrees. The target audience is passionate about family. They spend a lot of time with their families and eat dinner very night. Socially, the audience enjoys going out dancing with friends, dining out and entertaining at home. They also use social media like Facebook and Twitter. The color palette evokes a cheerful, energetic and warm atmosphere. Tones were used instead of a tinted color scheme to promote excitement, enthusiasm and reliability.
Wireframes
Sketches

I think that the jazz mood board best communicates the look and feel of the concert considering the purpose of the project and the target audience. The preliminary sketches were done with the intent to get a visual layout of the next process which were creating the wireframes.
