Concept Art project

This is my morally board with all my interests/inspiration for my world. I wanted to go for a wild west/science fantasy mash up. This project I had in mind was a adventure comic.
This is a map for the world of the comic, it's very basic and is shows the major places I was concerned with, the two major cities, the barren land of witches and the mountains where the characters live.
Since I was think of this project in terms of a webcomic I wondered what kind of user interface design I could use, I went with making some text options and making character icons.
This next project was designing a minor character, which led to this character, a spirit of flame named Azar, who would act as a minor antagonist towards the main characters.
Azar was designed from the 3rd silhouette on this chart.
The process behind this piece was to create an environment. My main goal in this project was to learn about kit bashing however I also learned a lot about space/clarity in environments.
This is a section of silhouettes for the next assignment regarding the design of the protagonist of our story. Here I was playing with designs and seeing how crazy I could get.
I was trying to find a crazy design for the swordsman Yuma to contrast with the more mundane looking siblings who's plight kickstart the story.
Here is the finalized design of the characters.
This is the key image for this project. What I was going for was a book cover/comic cover that had an epic adventure feel to it. The setting I went was the protagonists discovering El Dorado, one of the locations on the map.
These are projects I did for my concept art class. The goal was to make a bunch of pieces related to one over arching projects. The idea I had was an adventure comic set in a world with robots, cowboys and witches. The story is about two siblings Coyote and Lobo who lose their parents and meet a swordsman named Yuma who protects them as they traverse across the land searching for their parents.
