The purpose of “Banana”, part of the Food for Thought series, was designed to provide scientific information about the banana. Typically yellow, the playful color seemed an obvious conceptual choice, which I rejected in favor of a design and concept based on research of scientific information.
Content included information about ethylene production, pests, diseases, cultivation, and natural disasters.
The cover of this book shows the banana in a simple way without its shape, only with its colors and torn paper. I chose a black and yellow color palette based on research about the ethylene process.
