Stacks—Branding

Stacks
Branding, Marketing
...

Stacks is a fictional restaurant that was designed for my senior capstone exhibit in college. The inspiration behind this project was the closing of the only restaurant in my small hometown. The goal for Stacks was to create a restaurant concept that would be sustainable in a small-town setting where it might be hard to find employees and costs would need to be kept low.

Stacks is a burger and sandwich shop where the ingredients are always double-stacked and sure to keep the local farmers fueled throughout the day. The primary market for this restaurant is an older, conservative farming community, so the style and colors selected for the brand have vintage and rustic influences with a few elements from the Art Deco Era.

One of the main methods for keeping the restaurant functional with less employees was to make an interactive menu. Customers would come in and use a marker to check off the meal and toppings they want on menu. This would then be turned in to the kitchen to be prepared for them. Although not as personal as a server taking your order, customers have the freedom to customize their entire meal without feeling guilty for making someone else navigate their requests. Menus would be printed to be more user-friendly, and costs would be kept low by making them reusable.

This project had a lot of components and was extremely fun to work with, and who knows, maybe this restaurant will become a reality one day!
